REMEDIAL MASSAGE
Hands-on therapy for
recovery, movement
and relief.
Qualified remedial massage therapists supporting participants with chronic pain,
muscle tension, post-injury recovery, mobility limitations and general wellbeing.
Delivered as part of a coordinated allied health plan.
How We Deliver
What remedial massage can do.
Remedial massage is a hands-on therapy that uses targeted techniques to address specific musculoskeletal issues. It is not a relaxation massage. It is a clinical treatment focused on identifying tension patterns, restrictions and dysfunction, and working with the body to resolve them.
For participants living with chronic pain, recovering from injury, managing the physical impacts of a disability, or carrying years of compensatory tension from mobility challenges, remedial massage can be a meaningful part of an allied health plan.
Pain that has been ignored for years often responds to consistent, skilled hands-on work in ways that medication and exercise alone cannot.

How It Works
From first session to ongoing care.
1
Initial assessment
The first session includes a clinical assessment, movement screening and discussion of goals. We listen first, treat second.
2
Targeted treatment
Treatment is tailored to your needs. Techniques may include deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, stretching and mobilisation.
3
Home strategies
Most sessions end with simple things you can do between visits, including stretches, posture cues and self-care strategies.
4
Review and coordination
Where you are also seeing our physiotherapist, OT or other allied health practitioners, your therapists communicate so the plan stays joined-up.
Accessibility
Built around your body, not a standard treatment couch.
Our remedial massage therapists are experienced in working with participants who cannot easily transfer to a standard massage table. Treatment can be adapted for:
Wheelchair-based or seated treatment
Bed-based treatment (in-home)
Modified positioning for participants with limited range of motion or pain on movement
Adjusted session length where fatigue is a factor
Our intake team will confirm access and positioning needs in advance so the right setup is ready when you arrive.
Funding
How remedial massage is funded.
NDIS: Where remedial massage is identified in a participant's plan as supporting their disability-related goals (typically under Capacity Building Improved Daily Living, or sometimes Core Supports), it can be funded. Our intake team helps you confirm this against your plan.
DVA: Eligible veterans can access remedial massage through DVA-funded allied health when prescribed by a GP under a treatment cycle.
Private health insurance: Most major health funds offer rebates for remedial massage delivered by qualified practitioners. We can issue compliant receipts. HICAPS may be available at participating locations.
NIISQ: For participants with serious injury where remedial massage supports recovery as part of an approved treatment plan.
Private fee-for-service: Available for participants without funding or supplementing existing plans.
